AIIMS Progress

The construction and development work of AIIMS Awantipora are progressing steadily towards establishing a world-class healthcare and academic institution in the Kashmir Valley. As per the latest progress updates, the overall structural and civil works of the institute have achieved approximately 76% completion, marking a significant milestone in the development of the prestigious project. The institute is being developed as a state-of-the-art 750 bedded tertiary care hospital and advance medical education centre under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), with modern infrastructure designed to support healthcare delivery, medical education, research, and innovation. Major components including academic blocks, hospital facilities, residential complexes, hostels, service buildings, and allied infrastructure are progressing in a phased and coordinated manner. Once completed, AIIMS Awantipora will emerge as a landmark institution dedicated to strengthening healthcare services and medical education in Jammu & Kashmir while serving as a centre of excellence for patient care, research, and academic advancement.
